Sophie Tomes

Sophie is an illustrator and tattoo artist based in the West Midlands. She has always had an affinity for illustration and, after achieving high marks in her art and photography a-levels, started an apprenticeship in tattooing. She has been tattooing for six years and works with her close friends in a family run studio. She specialises in illustrative fine line detail. In her tattooing Sophie loves taking inspiration from a large variety of imagery but mostly incorporates florals and wild animals. Her work is a mixture of hand and digitally drawn art work but she loves drawing in ink and biro pen. Sophie also loves taking inspiration from traditional woodcut techniques to create illustrations using a mixture of fine and bold lines to create depth and contrast.
